About Daniel Seitz

Daniel Seitz, JD, EdD, is a leading advisor to nonprofit organizations, including universities, professional associations and other mission-driven groups. His broad background and extensive knowledge make him a solid source of guidance and support. The common thread among the various organizations he works with is the desire to remain current, flexible and forward-thinking while staying on track with their mission to serve the greater good, be it through education, health care, nutrition or the arts.

Dan is executive director of the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education, a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accrediting agency for naturopathic doctoral programs in the U.S. and Canada. He also is an active consultant and facilitator, providing nonprofits, associations and educational institutions with advice on matters involving governance, assistance with strategic planning, and management coaching, among others. He received a doctorate in higher education administration and leadership from University of Massachusetts, Boston, a law degree from Boston University School of Law, and bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Chicago. Since 2007, he has served on the board of directors of the Berkshire Co-op Market, a cooperative grocery store in Great Barrington, MA, that sells primarily organic and local foods. He is also a board member for the Dr. Robert C. and Tina Sohn Foundation, which supports the environment, health care and the arts, and is a public member of the National Organic Standards Board, an advisory board that makes recommendations to the United States Secretary of Agriculture. Dan is past president of the New England School of Acupuncture, was founding dean for graduate programs in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine at New York Chiropractic College, and has guided several emerging professional fields in developing educational and accreditation standards.
